Penn State is headed to the ---
2022 Outback Bowl
The Penn State Nittany Lions will return to the Outback Bowl and Tampa Bay's Raymond James Stadium for the fourth time ... and the first time since 2010. Nittany Lions (7-5) take on SEC foe Arkansas Razorbacks (8-4) on Saturday - January 1st, 2022 at noon (ET). This will be the first meeting between the two teams. The Nittany Lions are 24-23 all-time against current SEC schools, having played 11 of the 14 teams in that league... the most recent being this past September with an at home 28-20 win over Auburn. This trip also marks Penn State's 51st all-time bowl appearance. Nationally, among schools with at least 20 postseason appearances, the Nittany Lions are tied for 5th with 30 bowl victories and 7th in bowl winning percentage with a 30-18-2 post-season record (62.0%). This will be Penn State's fourth Outback Bowl appearance with the last being a 37-24 loss to Florida in 2010. Our squad also appeared in the 2006 Outback Bowl with a 20-10 victory over Tennessee and in 1995 with a 43-14 win over Auburn. |
