Notes About the Hiking Trail
Join us for a free hike at the Bacon Ridge Natural Area in Crownsville. This Anne Arundel County park has beautiful trails through the woods, and this specific hike even has an unexpected sight near the end! Our hike is child and dog friendly, but dogs must be on a leash and the trail is not good for strollers or for those who can’t walk 2 miles. We’ll be doing a loop hike that is about 2 miles long at an easy pace. If there is interest, we can offer an option for some of the group to do a longer hike at a faster pace. The trails are good but aren’t paved, are hilly and have ruts and occasional roots, so you need to watch your footing. There might be some small sections that are muddy if it has rained recently. We recommend hiking shoes/boots, but you can definitely do this hike in tennis shoes if you prefer. |
